1. Who We Are
Puzzlio is a puzzle-game application provided by Wayne ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Puzzlio (the "App") and its leaderboard service.
2. Information We Handle
Leaderboard identity and device identifier
To operate the leaderboard service, we process an Apple Game Center player identifier after you authenticate with Game Center, and the Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) made available by iOS. The App stores the IDFV and its Game Center binding in Apple Keychain on your device. This may help us recognize the same local installation after an uninstall and reinstall. IDFV is not a permanent identifier and may change in circumstances determined by Apple or iOS.
Leaderboard records
When you submit a best result, we send and store the relevant game, leaderboard period (such as daily or weekly), score, rank-related record, and submission time. We use these records only to run game leaderboards and prevent duplicate or invalid submissions.
Purchase verification
For an in-app purchase, we process transaction identifiers, product identifiers, purchase/entitlement status, and verification results needed to provide or restore purchased content. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password.
Service and security logs
Our servers may record IP address, request time, app version, technical request metadata, and error or security events. These records are used for security, abuse prevention, service reliability, and troubleshooting.
Local-only game data
Game progress, settings, and other gameplay data that are not submitted as a leaderboard result remain on your device. We do not upload them and do not provide cross-device game-progress sync.
3. How We Use Information
- authenticate and bind a Game Center player identity to the App’s device/service record;
- operate, display, and protect daily, weekly, and other in-game leaderboards;
- verify purchases, provide purchased entitlements, and restore them where applicable;
- detect abuse, maintain security, and diagnose service failures; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use the information above for targeted advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to track you across companies’ apps or websites.
4. Leaderboard Visibility
Leaderboard scores and ranks are visible to other Puzzlio players through the in-game leaderboard. We do not display your IDFV or Game Center player identifier in the leaderboard. If the App later displays a player-supplied or Game Center display name or avatar, this policy will be updated before that feature is released.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
We share information only as necessary to provide the App: with Apple for Game Center and App Store/StoreKit services, and with infrastructure providers that host our server, database, and logs on our behalf. These providers may process information only to provide their services to us and are required to protect it appropriately. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the App, our users, or our rights.
Apple’s handling of its services is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
6. Retention
- Leaderboard identity bindings and active leaderboard records are retained while the leaderboard service is active, unless you request deletion.
- Daily and weekly leaderboard records are deleted or de-identified after 12 months, unless retention is needed for security or legal reasons.
- Security and diagnostic logs are normally retained for up to 30 days.
- Purchase verification and entitlement records are retained while needed to provide and restore your purchase, and longer only when required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
After a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify associated server-side leaderboard identity and records within 30 days, except where we must retain information for the purposes above. Backup copies are removed in the ordinary backup cycle, no later than 90 days after deletion.
7. Your Choices and Requests
You may choose not to authenticate with Game Center or not to submit a score; the related leaderboard features will then be unavailable. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your server-side leaderboard data by emailing us at the address below. To protect players, we may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify the request. Deleting server-side leaderboard data can remove your leaderboard records and may affect recognition after reinstall. It does not restore or delete local game progress on your device; you control local data by using iOS and the App’s available controls.
8. Children’s Privacy
Puzzlio is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will address the request in accordance with applicable law.
9. International Processing
Your information may be processed in the countries or regions where we or our service providers operate. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information during such processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice in the App or as otherwise required by law.
